Presenting the Artists of Strumpet 3: Colleen Frakes!

The Kickstarter for the Strumpet 3 is still going on and its time for our next artist highlight.

 This time it's Colleen Frakes! Colleen is a cartoonist based out of Seattle, Washington. She has won an Ignatz Award, and has been awarded the Xeric Grant. A graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies, she has been self-publishing mini-comics for more than ten years now and shows no signs of slowing down.



She has been featured in a large number of publications and anthologies, such as Funny Animals 3, Strange New Worlds, and Sundays 5. You can find more of her work here and here.

Presenting the Artists of Strumpet 3: Lisa Rosalie Eisenberg!

Strumpet 3's Kickstarter is still going strong! And with talent bursting at the seams, we are hoping to bring that talent to the forefront. To those ends, we will be presenting one artist that contributed to this issue of the Strumpet every day! Today's artist is Lisa Rosalie Eisenberg, who has been in every Strumpet so far, and is returning for her third tour of duty.




Based out of Portland, she often teaches cartooning to kids and often participates in comics workshops during local conventions, like Stumptown and Wizard World. You can find comics by her here and, just to whet your appetites, here is a preview of Lisa’s contribution to the Strumpet 3!

Presenting the Artists of Strumpet 3: Hannah Berry!

To celebrate the ongoing journey of Strumpet 3, we are showcasing the artists that contributed to it in all their glory.



Today’s featured artist is Hannah Berry. She is a graphic artist who works out of Brighton.  She began her first graphic novel, Britten and Brulightly while still attending the University of Brighton and it was later published by Jonathan Cape in 2008 and her second graphic novel, Adamtine, was published in 2012.



She also writes for publications such as New Statesman, Dazed and Confused, and Huffington Post UK. She also does work as an illustrator, lecturer, and editor.

Presenting the Artists of Strumpet 3: Kristyna Baczynski!

With The Strumpet 3’s Kickstarter campaign rolling right along, we will continue to proudly display the artists that have contributed to it here on the blog. We have a lot of tasty talent on tap, so don’t expect us to run out any time soon!



 The next artist up at bat is Kristyna Baczynski, an artist who is “of Yorkshire tongue and Ukrainian blood”. Kristyna has been featured in a large number of publications and anthologies such as Paper science, thought bubble anthology, Solipsistic Pop, and The Stool Pigeon.


She has also self-published mini-comics and is definitely on the rise right now - she's one of our favorite UK artists and we're so happy to have Kristyna involved with Strumpet 3!  You can find more of her work here and here.

Presenting the Artists of Strumpet 3: Anna Bas Backer!

Strumpet 3 is steamin' right along now on Kickstarter and to celebrate its upcoming release we are featuring one of the artists that contributed to it every day!  Until we run out of artists!  And that will take a while!

Today's featured lady is Anna Bas Backer, one of the brand-new artists for this issue. Dutch-born and German-based, Anna is a cartoonist who, in 2009, worked with fellow Berlin cartoonist Ulla Loge on the monthly feature"Night Vultures" for the Berlin City Magazine.


More recently, she is creating comics for the bi-monthly feature "Familienjuwelen".

Presenting the Artists of Strumpet 3: Patrice Aggs!



In preparation for the release of the release of The Strumpet 3, we'd like to start a feature that highlights the talent that contributed to it: our many Wonderful artists!  First up: Patrice Aggs, an author who has worked on many children's books and comics, including collaborations with Philip Pullman and her son, the fantastic John Aggs.



She has worked with many publications, such as The DFC, and currently draws and writes"What Will Happen Next?!" for the British children's comics magazine, The Phoenix.
